The delicate melodies, hypnotic rhythms and even dense post-rock walls that the Croatian trio Nemeček builds in their music will have their Czech premiere on 23 February in Dejvice’s Klubovna. The three-piece band works with Slavic folk, borrowing its instruments and musical techniques and then bringing them to 21st century music clubs. Nemeček’s sound may be reminiscent of Belgium’s Black Heart Rebelion, but its thematic focus is on the Balkan region and its traditions. Ambient surfaces, tambourine and electric guitars also meet in the trilogy of albums Prokletije, which will be completed this year with the final album. The first record in the series made the Croatian best albums of 2021 list three years ago. Nemecek is also one of the most exciting musical discoveries from Southeastern Europe.

The Slovakian duo, in which the musician from the post-jazz band God and Eve met the producer of the noise project Tittingur, put together something for the fans and followers of Andy Stott, Tim Hecker and FKA Twigs for their first joint record Decision Paralysis.

Last year’s debut under the progressive Weltschmerzen label builds on minimalist loops and cool synths, layering the effects of Sajan’s distraught voice. The album dispenses with percussion and beats – instead focusing on dreamy, almost Dadaist lyrics that enhance the raw emotion.
