The retro-futuristic blend of melodies and rhythms from Peru, Argentina and Turkey in the music of Los Bitchos is interwoven into laid-back songs that have a touch of psychedelic rock and contemporary indie. The London-based band is now back in Prague with a new album under the City Slang label, coming to Palác Akropolis on 21 November.
Los Bitchos was formed in 2017 out of a shared love of cumbia (Afro-Latin dance music that also features rock guitar) by Australian Serra Petale, former drummer of indie rock band Kid Wave (guitar), Uruguayan and former model Agustina Ruiz (keyboards), Sweden’s Josefine Jonsson (bass) and Londoner Nic Crawshaw (drums). With their debut solo album Let the Festivities Begin!, the musicians have toured festivals from Primavera to Coachella and supported the European tour of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.
