The fifth edition of the Moody Moon Noize boutique festival will take place on the last weekend of August in the North Bohemian town of Chomutov. Last year’s edition, organised together with the local Kuprospěchu association, revived several remarkable spaces in the city centre, and for the current edition the organisers promise more exclusive locations – for example Kamencové jezero or Městské lázně. Moody Moon Noize Vol. 5 will take place over three days, August 29-31, 2024, and headliners include legendary formation The Ecstasy of St. Theresa, a rap hit called Rohony, and award-winning artists Petra Hermanova and Anna Vaverkova.
The programme of the fifth edition of Moody Moon Noize will be traditionally wide-ranging in terms of genres, with an emphasis on fresh representatives of the Czech and Slovak scene. Resonating names such as Rohony, Anna Vaverková or Petra Hermanova – both nominated for Vinyl and Apollo awards for their albums last year – will be complemented by Slovakian hopefuls DASA or Meowlau x Val, or the hot indie psychedelic sensation Island Mint. Yanntray & Kvítek will play their first ever announced performance for the remarkable Kaspar Hauser collection (again nominated for a Vinyl Award), while the organisers also recommend a concert by the anonymous Eastworks project. A separate chapter will be the set of the legendary formation The Ecstasy of St. Theresa, which will close the festival on Saturday 31 August. “Ever since the second edition, we have been toying with the idea of including among the dozens of representatives of mostly young and emerging artistic projects a name that has shaped the tastes of a completely different generation. The EOST comeback turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to make this dream come true and we are glad that they included ours among the few concerts at bigger festivals,” adds David Čajčík from Heartnoize on account of the surprising booking.
