Nihiloxica

Originally a Kampala-based group, 𝘕𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘤𝘢, beginning under the label 𝘕𝘺𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘕𝘺𝘦𝘨𝘦 works with the sounds of analogue techno and percussion in their sound, fusing the tradition of Anglo-Saxon dance music with local Ugandan genres and rhythms.

The Czech premiere will take place at the Underdogs’ club in Prague on 27th of October 2023 and the band will present their upcoming album 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭, which will be released in autumn under the prestigious Belgian label 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘴.

Nihiloxica was formed by the merger of Kampala-based drumming ensemble Nilotica and musicians from the UK performing as Spooky J and PQ. The critically acclaimed recordings, full of immersive hypnotic loops and unexpected rhythms, also present a new experience in live concerts, where they take on an almost transcendental dimension. The large ensemble has already performed for audiences at Uganda’s Nyege Nyege Festival, as well as European festivals focused on progressive music such as Sónar, CTM and Dekmantel. A deep connection with sounds and rhythms that transcends the boundaries of time and space.
